We had a terrible stay: no TV, the smoke alarm batteries were dying, the towel had mold, the phone was dead, and we couldn't locate an employee at 11:30 or reach them by phone. The complimentary breakfast was almost nonexistent—only oatmeal and cereal. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not even the devil himself.

The room was clean and fairly comfortable for the price, and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. It’s a very small hotel, but for its size it was reasonably well accommodated.

We paid $172 for a one‑night stay and the breakfast was disappointing, essentially just cereal, toast, and yogurt. The security was poor; the back door we used to enter was broken, letting anyone in without a key. When we checked in the room had a bad odor, so we opened the windows for fresh air, but the screens had holes. The windows could be opened, which helped a bit. We were exhausted from bicycling on the Iowa trails and didn’t want to move rooms, even though we could have requested a different one from the office. The cost felt outrageous for a Super 8.

The staff responded quickly to our concerns, worked hard to fix the broken A/C, offered a fan (though it didn’t help in the humid hot room), and set up a sofa bed in the second room we had booked to accommodate two guests because there were no other available rooms. They also restocked basic breakfast items on request. The unusable room was cancelled and refunded by the staff without asking; I’m unsure what happens with the booking service fees or if there will be a cancellation cost—hope not. The location was quiet. However, the one room we stayed in was at least 85+ degrees due to the non‑working A/C, and it was strange that cleaning staff or prior guests hadn’t noticed. Basic room supplies were barely adequate. Breakfast was meager: basic cereal, one yogurt choice, juice, milk, coffee, and a banana. If you’re low sugar or diabetic, there’s coffee. There was no coffee in the room. The hotel has two stories and no elevator.
