The breakfast was excellent, but items were constantly missing and guests who had already left were not properly attended to. For the price of two nights in the annex, we were disappointed by the strong damp cellar smell, the laundry was already shut when we arrived, and the shower had old hair floating in it. The staff seemed neither service‑oriented nor welcoming, as if there were not enough qualified people in both the restaurant and reception.

Breakfast was standard and included everything expected, though it felt cramped and the buffet line was longer than in other hotels. The staff were thin. We were told there was a coffee machine in the hallway of the annex, but none existed. We could get coffee at the hotel, yet it was inconvenient to walk across Ribe Torv for a cup. Also, the staircase to the first floor of the annex was steep and narrow, a detail that should have been disclosed so guests could note it in their booking or choose a different floor.
