“Staff at the hotel brilliant”
Thanks to all the hotel staff—they were always helpful and ready with a smile. The place is close to the Dalai Lama temple, about a 15‑minute walk, and McLeod Ganj is another steep uphill walk of roughly 15 minutes. The hotel sits on the main Temple Road, which gets very busy and noisy with traffic.
“Uncomfortable and unpleasant.”
The staff were helpful and tried to make things right by upgrading me to a better room. Still, construction was going on, so I couldn’t see the mountains because of scaffolding, and the road below was noisy. The first room was dirty, not well maintained, had stains on the sheets and hair, so I had to ask the staff to clean it again. Even the upgraded room had road noise, and closing the windows made it stuffy; the corridor light was also intrusive. Near the lobby there was a strong stale‑food smell.
