The receptionist greeted me warmly and explained that the hotel was connected to another with a similar name in the same area. The price was reasonable for a basic room in a secure setting. When I arrived, the hot water system was broken, but the staff removed it and fixed it the next day, which was good because cold water in the cooler climate isn’t ideal. Fabhotel keeps repeating the same mistakes. They advertise no prepayment, yet once I booked they sent a statement demanding prepayment, which is difficult for foreign tourists to pay into an Indian bank. The room was basic and would look better with a fresh coat of paint, as the walls were dirty and marked. The bedsheets were badly stained and would improve the presentation if replaced. The room wasn’t soundproof; it was next to the reception, and loud talking and music continued until late at night. It didn’t bother me, but it might concern other guests. When I locked the door from the inside, the lock engaged but the key wouldn’t open it, so the receptionist had to help me get the door opened. I had to bang on the door to get assistance. About ten unfriendly dogs near the entrance barked at me, so I had to walk around the back to avoid them.
