The view from the house was nice. When we got there we had to turn on the heat, so it was cold at first. The beds feel old.

The location was fine. There was no mattress protector, which is basic, and the nylon base sheet was awful. We only got one pillow each. The blind couldn’t be used because there was no cord to pull it down, so it was too high to reach. The small window was high up and hard to see out of; I’m 5ft 10, so I had to hop onto a chair to look, and all I saw was a bush, a ladder and the garden level at the side of the property where the garden is high up. The shower was poor with a dirty shower head. There were no photos of our bathroom on the booking site, and for good reason. The room we booked was listed as a double or twin room with photos of those. Our room was not like those photos; they had lovely views and decor. The owners are deceiving people and that is wrong. As you can see from our room the window was high up and the view was not any of those shown for our room type. And our bathroom was not shown in the photos. The photos shown for our booking were of modernised bathrooms. Ours certainly wasn’t. We concluded we had the worst room in the guesthouse. We arrived just after check‑in and left around 9 am the next morning, never seeing the owners. The keys to our room had been left in an envelope on arrival. If we had seen the owners on departure we would have said something. The room was number 3. We can’t recommend this guesthouse given our experience.

We had an amazing stay at Stóra-Mörk Guesthouse. The location is beautiful, with stunning views and a really peaceful atmosphere. We also loved how spacious the accommodation was and had plenty of room to relax. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again. It was quite warm when we arrived because the bathroom heater was on, but airing the place out quickly solved it
