I loved how clean the place was and how friendly the staff were; there was always someone ready to help and you could book tours at the front desk. The kitchen is spacious and the terrace offers a great view of the lake, plus the ferry stop is nearby if you want to cross. The AC only worked at night, and because the room is close to some other beds, guests sometimes asked to turn it off, which disrupted the temperature for everyone else.

The hostal sits in a calm, secluded spot on the island’s north side, just a short walk from cafés, restaurants, corner shops and lanchas across the river, and about a 10‑minute walk from La Torre Supermarket. The reception is open 24/7 and the front door is always locked. A lovely open‑air terrace with lounges and a pool table overlooks the water. The 4‑bed dorm I stayed in is on the smaller side, with no real place to put a bag except a corner of the room, and the ensuite is also small but manageable. Dorms have small bedside lockers that fit a passport or wallet, but larger lockers that could hold a laptop would be handy. There’s only one spoon in the entire kitchen.
