Shangri-La Harbin

The hotel is centrally located in Harbin, not far from all the tourist attractions, and the staff were very kind and helpful, so I truly enjoyed my stay.

The room was spacious and decorated in the classic Shangri‑La style, and the staff were helpful and friendly. An ATM in the lobby made it easy for international guests. The nearest convenience store is a bit of a walk away, which is inconvenient when it’s -25 °C in winter.

The room was truly impressive—very large with a sleek, modern bathroom. We were very pleased with the hotel’s facilities, and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful whenever we needed assistance. All in all, a great stay!

The reception manager speaks English well. The staff are very courteous and smile a lot. The rooms are very clean and fairly spacious, with all the little extras (brushes, toothpaste, soap, caps, etc.). Towels are clean, bedding is clean, and the mattress, blanket, and pillows are very comfortable, so sleeping is pleasant. A welcome dish of fruit and drinks was provided, and there’s an extra blanket in the wardrobe. The bathrobes are warm in the bath. Breakfasts are very nice. The river is nearby, and the promenade is close. We were there in mid‑January, and it was quite quiet and calm.

For the price, I don’t see the point in booking this hotel; the rooms are very tired. Plus, they take a fairly large deposit—slightly more than the daily room rate—and it takes a long time to return it! The deposit’s purpose is unclear; there’s no minibar in the room, the room is old, the furniture and everything else are outdated.
