The shared room was very nice and well equipped, but the mattresses were a nightmare. One bathroom looked good but lacked shower gel and shampoo, while another was poorly cleaned. Even in the restaurant, the Wi‑Fi barely worked.

The food was good with generous portions. It was expensive for a bunk bed, and there was only one toilet and shower for many people.

I enjoyed the inn itself and the surroundings; most of the staff were friendly and helpful. It would have been nice to receive an email or some notice that the road up to Tan Hill was closed, because we were diverted off course. A small fridge in the room with bottled water would have helped, as I was quite dehydrated during the night. Otherwise everything was fine; breakfast was a bit slow because only one young woman handled everything from sorting the breakfasts to preparing the walkers' sandwiches.
