I was immediately drawn to Pestana Hotel’s informal yet welcoming vibe, and the room itself was lovely with a practical bathroom and a large, comfy bed; breakfast was solid. The only downside was its location in the European Quarter, which feels a bit dull, though it’s close to Leopold Park and Cinquantenaire Park.

The rooms were spacious and well thought out; the doors slam like most hotels because of fire safety, but the sound is muted compared to other places, making it noticeably quieter. Large tea cups are a nice touch, and I appreciate that the windows can be tilted and the HVAC can be set to heat or cool. Overall, the rooms are really well designed. I didn’t try the breakfast. The room had a slight sweat smell, but after a few minutes I got used to it and didn’t complain, which is why I gave it 9/10 for cleanliness.
