“Heel fijn!”
Brandon was very friendly. In the first room the shower was incomplete and the ceiling was exposed.
I can see why the neighborhood might look sketchy to many, but overall it was fine and the location was very convenient; this quirky side of Paris was actually amusing. Each bed had a full curtain for privacy and a night lamp, and for the price I couldn’t complain too much. On the downside, the room was tiny, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, the staircase and elevator were very old, the bed numbers were hard to locate, there was no padlock or towel, and I had to put the bed sheet on myself.
The new shower and soft bed sheets made the breakfast quality stand out, especially thanks to the Vietnamese lady at the breakfast counter. However, the elevator was broken, so I had to climb to the 5th floor with my 75‑year‑old luggage and no one helped me. The BARBES district feels like Senegal, with a very bad reputation and shady locals, and I didn’t feel safe on the street or in the area.
“Bien dans l'ensemble”
The concept is cheap and appealing. The mixed‑gender room was disappointing, but maybe I misread it.
“Heerlijk verblijf!”
Brandon was incredibly welcoming! Everything was perfect, but a suggestion: put a small table or a set of chairs in the rooms.
