“Very good for a layover hotel. Cheaper than most inside the city, but not very extravagant”

This hotel is perfectly acceptable and located outside the main city, making it convenient if you’re heading to or arriving from the airport. The rooms are very spacious, and ours featured an outdoor balcony with large windows that let in plenty of light. Several restaurants are nearby for those who prefer not to go into town. There is a restaurant and breakfast downstairs, but we didn’t use it, so I can’t comment on the food. The hotel feels a bit dated, but it’s still fine. The shower lacks a floor divider, so water splashes everywhere.

The room was clean and pleasant, and the staff were friendly. I appreciated the no‑smoking rule on the property—there was no odor anywhere. The shower offers hot mineral water, gel, and soap. A bus stop is nearby, and the city center is a 40‑minute ride by bus. The heating batteries work well. However, the hotel asks for a physical credit card for “security purposes,” which feels unnecessary. The room feels a bit old‑fashioned. The price is probably appropriate for Iceland, but the bed consists of two side‑by‑side mattresses that can shift slightly.

I spent two excellent nights here. The place was spotless, well‑situated, and the staff were very kind. I want to thank the receptionist again; her advice helped me find everything I needed for my trip. I’ll definitely book again when I return in two years.
