I woke up at 07:15 with a tablet of food—beans, an egg, four slices of toast but no butter—handed to me without asking. The breakfast was a disaster, and locals were allowed to eat in the Hauthaus. The air‑conditioner blew directly onto the bed and couldn't be adjusted, while the toilet flush kept breaking. I never felt welcomed and the conversation was poor; it might be fine for Malays but not for Europeans.

The place was quiet in the jungle, the pool was fine, and the salty breakfast was decent. The sheets were stained.

“Short vacation stay”

The room was clean and there were plenty of facilities like a swimming pool and dining hall, plus spacious parking. However, the path to the lodge was narrow and far from the main road, the bathroom lacked a water heater, the pillows were hard, there was no side table for personal items, and I could hear guests in the adjacent room talking and singing.
