Slopeside Lodge Hakuba

The staff were friendly and accommodating, just meters from the ski slope, and the boot‑drying rack was effective. Rooms and facilities were clean, and there was a free shuttle to other parts of Hakuba. All this comes at a very reasonable price compared to other places in Hakuba, making it the best spot I’ve stayed at during my two‑month ski trip in Japan. The only downside was the limited vegan options; breakfast was just salad, fruit, and rice.

“Best lodge ever!”

I had a wonderful time at this lodge. The facilities were top quality for the price, and the staff kindly drove me to the neighbouring ski resort every day. Dinner at the lodge was reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly, the hostel had a sociable vibe, and the amenities—including a boot dryer and plenty of room for skis and snowboards—were great. I have no complaints; 10/10 stay.

The place blew us away – from the spot to the staff it surpassed every expectation. Being right outside the slopes made skiing a breeze, and a bus stop at the street’s base was super handy for town trips. Breakfast was delicious, sparing us the hassle of cooking or heading out. The rooms were huge, spotless, and cozy, with a heater that worked flawlessly. Every staff member was incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly, always ready to answer any question or concern. It was the best stay of our trip – 100/10, and a big shout out to Ichiro. No complaints.
