“Great first hostel in Kyoto. Would recommend with decent expectations”

The staff were very polite, the room was very large for the price, and the wooden, homey feel was nice. When it rains, you can hear it through the ceiling very loudly, which isn’t ideal for many people, but it didn’t bother me. They had almost every appliance you could want, which is rare; you could cook a meal if you wish, and there was a personal mini‑fridge plus a large shared one. All in all, great. The start was confusing: I couldn’t enter my room even after receiving my code, and all the bathrooms were locked behind the private rooms. After a while a very kind employee came to help me.

“Good value stay a bit away from Kyoto station”

The property is in a peaceful neighbourhood, and for the price we paid it includes a private washroom. The facility is clean and the self‑check‑in process is smooth. There’s a coin‑operated washing machine downstairs, and the host was very responsive to our questions. It is a bit far from Kyoto station, but bus stops are about 5 minutes away and can take you to most places; convenience stores are a bit further if you’re willing to walk. We got a bunk bed that was a bit creaky, and there’s only one floor on the second level with no lift, so you’ll need to haul your luggage.

“Not bad but..”

The accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed, but the beds creaked terribly; when someone sleeps above you, the squeaking and thumping makes it impossible to rest, and the walls are so thin that you can hear everything happening in the shared areas or in the rooms around you.
