We stayed at Guesthouse Gareji and felt instantly welcomed by the hosts, who were kind and made us feel at home right from the start. The place was spotless and tranquil, surrounded by lovely nature, which made it an ideal spot to unwind after a trip to the David Gareji Monastery. The homemade Georgian dinner and breakfast were delicious, featuring fresh local ingredients and generous portions. The rooms were comfortable, the beds clean, and every need was met. If you’re after authentic Georgian hospitality, this is the spot to choose.

Breakfast was fairly simple and not very filling. The location on the edge of Udabno is great for a trip to the Dawit Garedscha rock monastery, and the village also has restaurants. When we arrived, there were issues with the room – for example, the toilet flush didn’t work and not everyone had towels.
