The spot feels like a peaceful haven right in front of the forest. My room was roomy and spotlessly clean. The staff were fantastic and very helpful when I ran into an issue with my gorilla permit, and they sorted everything out. The meals were hearty and inexpensive, and they provided toiletries. Wi‑Fi was available and good quality, and hot water was on hand. Thanks again to Gad and Amron for the warm welcome. PS: the lodge is run by the local community and the profits go straight to them.

A community‑run lodge—if you want to back the local people, stay here. Amron was an excellent host, really eager to serve us well at meals. Later, the lodge operator Gad joined us; he had 25 years in the national park and could speak firsthand about gorilla habituation because he was involved. Not only did we get breakfast, but also a packed lunch for the next day’s gorilla trek, which we appreciated. We didn’t know beforehand that only cash was accepted, but we switched to mobile money and it worked great.

The lodge sits conveniently close to the national park entrance, making it an ideal base for tours and activities. The property is well kept and spacious, with beautiful bungalows surrounded by nature. It’s very quiet and peaceful—a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The bungalows are comfortable and feature a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy the surroundings. Everything feels clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. The staff are friendly, attentive, and very service‑oriented. The food is good, and the lodge also helps organize tours, which makes planning very easy. Overall, a calm, well‑managed place with a great location near the park.
