“The most unusual place we stayed in Sri Lanka”
The staff were fantastic, earning a perfect 10/10. Having a pot of tea in the lounge was a delight, and the doodles on the large art books were very enjoyable. Learning about the house’s history and the artwork was interesting. The pool was usable, and seeing about 15 monkeys in the trees by the pool added to the Sri Lanka experience. After tearing my trousers in Kandy, the staff helped me get a needle and thread to repair them, carried my friend’s bag, and were always ready to assist. The building was dilapidated and too big to manage, so it wasn’t as clean as we’d liked. The remote location made it hard to reach central Kandy. Dinner and drinks were very expensive, though freshly cooked to order.
