The setting is beautiful, with a nice view of the mountains from the cottage and surrounding pine forests, but the road right next to the cottage is noisy, more than it first seemed. The studio for four people is tiny, yet it worked for our two nights. The stove in the apartment triggered the smoke alarm even with a little smoke, which automatically called the fire department; we sorted it out over the phone with the owner and managed to cancel the dispatch, but it stressed us right from the start because we worried about cooking normally. If cooking is allowed, the alarm should be set so normal cooking doesn’t trigger it, or guests should be told beforehand how to handle it. On arrival the fridge wasn’t working, and the next day the hot water stopped dripping. The owner/manager responded quickly and fixed everything remotely, but we would have appreciated the basics working upon arrival so we didn’t have to keep asking for them. After we left, I told the owner that we had removed the alarm from the stove before departure because of the cooking, and he replied that we “shouldn’t have done that!” and added that the stay was “somewhat wild,” which didn’t feel very professional. All these issues were linked to the equipment and its settings, not our behavior, and they ruined both our first and last impressions.

“Komfortní ubytování v Kubově Huti”

Komfortní ubytování s vlastním parkovištěm a dobíjecí stanici pro elektromobily, apartmán prostorný, nový, plně vybavený včetně kávovaru Nespresso, v přízemí možnost vařit v kuchyňce. Čistota nade vše.byla jsem mile překvapena. Prostorná koupelna se sprchovým koutem, lednice, klima jednotka, okna s izolačním dvojsklem, takže jsme žádný hluk neslyšeli. překrásný výhled do krajiny. Lepší to být nemohlo, byli jsme šťastní

Everything was in perfect order, and the owner was friendly—definitely coming back again.

The location is great for exploring Šumava, everything was clean, and talking with the owner was easy. The downside is the loud road right outside the windows, so you can’t really sleep with the window open. The kitchen feels more like a makeshift setup; the dishware—glasses, plates, cutlery—gets frozen in the counter exactly to the number of guests.
