We were 11 guests split into two groups, and the lounge, dining room, and kitchen were roomy enough for us. The pool, game drive, and walks were great, and the snooker table was handy for the kids. If you don’t like sharing space with strangers, it’s best to book the whole property.

“The place is beautiful & secluded”

My stay at this beautiful property was somewhat marred by the less-than-stellar reception. Although the African lady who helped us was lovely, the male staff member's behavior was quite off-putting, as he arrived smoking a cigarette and only put it out after some time. Additionally, our bathroom lacked basic amenities, such as glasses for brushing our teeth and a suitcase stand for our luggage. However, the property's tranquil atmosphere and unique light switches were definite highlights.

“Misleading advertisement, poor facilities”

While the property's pool and dam were nice features, our stay was ultimately ruined by the numerous issues we encountered. The property was much farther from Makanda than advertised, and we weren't informed about the roadworks, which made it difficult to access. Our room was also lacking in basic facilities, such as soap and toilet paper, and the WiFi only worked in the main house.

Unfortunately, my entire experience on this farm was great, but that's not saying much, as I didn't have any major complaints. However, I do want to mention that Maria and Louis were great hosts, which was a highlight of my stay.

“Great”

Despite the property being clean, my stay was marred by a major issue - a leak on the roof directly above my bed. It was raining heavily, and the noise and discomfort made it difficult to sleep. While cleanliness is important, it's not enough to make up for a leaky roof.
