The Econo Lodge Kansas City Downtown North hotel offers a convenient location near Sprint Center arena and The Kansas City Power & Light District entertainment district, within four miles. Nearby attractions include Harrah's Casino, Worlds of Fun theme park, and shopping centers. Amenities include free wireless Internet, picnic area, guest laundry, and copy/fax services. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and refrigerators upon request.

They insisted I had no reservation that day even though I had confirmation of the change and tried to bill me extra. The customer service was horrific, no hospitality, it felt like a scam.

I liked my stay and the accommodations, but the coffee needed improvement.

The hotel was close to the interstate and several eateries were within walking distance. My room had a microwave and mini fridge, hallways were clean, and the AC worked well. However, mildew/mold or dirt covered everything—everything smelled like a wet basement. Every cloth item, including the mattress cover and lamp shades, had mold/mildew. Ceiling tiles were gross with thick dirt, bathroom tiles were broken, paint splatters coated everything, and it felt like a slumlord property for years. The mattress was as hard as a rock.

The location was great, very peaceful and comfortable. The vending machine was a pain—no coffee, it ate your money, didn’t dispense items, and offered no refunds. It definitely needs a replacement.
