Located in downtown Boise's Linen District, the Modern Hotel boasts a modern bar and hosts an independent film festival on guest TVs. The open-air terrace features stone fire pits, while rooms offer flat-screen HDTVs, free WiFi, and iPod docking stations. Select studios have a minibar and Japanese soaking tub, and glass-enclosed showers come with deluxe bath products.

Everything was minimal—was told it was a unique and interesting hotel, but it wasn’t really that way. The people were nice but the facilities were minimal and probably not worth the price. The reservation desk connected to the website tried to book for $300, but we got the same room for $230. It just wasn’t good value for the price.

The Modern Hotel surprised me pleasantly; rooms were tidy and well decorated, and the free bikes let me explore the city easily. The spot was spot‑on and I’d definitely recommend it. The breakfast was a bit on the small side, and in the afternoon the outdoor terrace was only open to bar guests.

Very cute. Rooms were comfortable. Close to everything downtown. Loved the amenity bag we received at check‑in and breakfast was great! I liked it all.
