I really enjoyed my stay; the hostel was spotless, the rooms were nice, the location was great, the owners were super friendly and always eager to help, and Leon the volunteer kept a welcoming vibe. It’s also a solid spot for learning surfing and meeting people.

This family‑run surf lodge mixes top‑tier lessons with genuine hospitality: from arrival, a family that truly wants you to feel at home; Claire is a star, always attentive and friendly with great stories; Duncan is a flexible driver and ocean expert sharing knowledge enthusiastically; Dane is an excellent instructor who gives thoughtful feedback and pushes you; and the family‑oriented vibe brings people worldwide together, letting me meet many interesting folks and even new friends in just a few days. I couldn’t ask for more, both on and off the water, and I’m eager to return.

A beautiful surf lodge run by a lovely family; the area has good Portuguese restaurants and a stunning beach view, the surf in May was consistent and decent, lessons were great, the lodge has a very chill vibe, and I’d definitely stay again—just bring warm clothes in spring!
