The hotel was incredibly quiet and situated in what I consider the best spot: from the window you can see the ARK fortress wall, just a hand‑reach to the Kalyan minaret, the mysterious Mir Arab madrasa, and the stunning Kalon mosque; a pleasant five‑minute walk brings you to the Trade Domes, Labi House, Hojja with his clever donkey, and countless charms of old Bukhara, while the rich market and the cozy park with the Samani Mausoleum are ten minutes away on foot, everything is nearby. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and pleasant, equipped with a fridge which is vital in the hot summer, and the hosts were wonderful—sweet Zarina explained everything and offered help at every turn. Breakfasts were very good: tasty, varied and generous, so you never go hungry. We left early, and the owner kindly called a taxi for us at 4 am and helped with our luggage, which I greatly appreciate. We’ve stayed at “Rose of the Desert” twice, and if I ever get another chance to visit Bukhara I’ll gladly return to this hotel with gratitude.
