“WARNING: This was, without a shadow of a doubt, the WORST place I have ever stayed in my entire life”

We arrived around 9 PM, and the owners immediately claimed a “leak” in our booked room, so we were moved to another spot on the same street. That place was filthy, lacked a private bathroom, and forced us to use a shared bathroom in terrible condition. The sheets and towels had not been changed; everything was already used. When we called to complain, the owners were shockingly dishonest and unsympathetic, telling us “the problem was ours” and trying to cancel our reservation at 10 PM. We had no choice but to stay the night on used sheets, freeze in the cold, and could not shower because there were no clean towels. The shared bathroom was unusable and had no toilet paper. The next day, we waited until 1 PM to finally be moved back to the original room, ruining our plans and costing us a full day of our trip. We later discovered the original room had no leak at all. Parking information was also wrong: it is not free and has strict restrictions during specific hours, so we had to leave early Monday morning to avoid a heavy fine, as the area is reserved for residents and payment on site is impossible. We were misled, mistreated, and lost both time and money.

“Meh!”

I was skeptical after reading bad reviews, but it wasn’t that bad for the small price paid; the bathroom was clean and the room was fairly tidy. The downstairs kitchen and seating area were cluttered with laundry, the fridge‑freezer leaked and the whole area wasn’t clean. The bedroom needed plastering and decorating. When I first opened the bathroom door, a weed smell hit me, probably coming through the wall from another room or building next door. The person in the other room was a bit noisy, slamming the door each time they entered or left. I would definitely not stay there again; this place isn’t a relaxation haven.

“Cheap and functional - remember to take towels”

It was inexpensive and conveniently located (5 min walk from the station); kitchen facilities were available if needed. The shower in the en‑suite was decent—low bar, but a good shower matters! Fast Wi‑Fi internet. A strong unpleasant smell greeted me when I entered the common area (the bedroom/en‑suite were fine). No curtains over the bedroom window—just a bedsheet, presumably to block the view from the rear. No towel in the en‑suite, though there was toilet roll and soap.
