The staff took excellent care of us. The kettle in my room wasn’t working, so it might need a check.

It’s okay if you need accommodation in the area; the twin sea‑view front room 203 is very compact. The staff were very nice and helpful. I’ve heard there’s been a change of management, which might affect things. After 16 days in Ireland, this was the smallest place we’d stayed in and the most expensive. I’m not sure if the photos represent the accommodation; I was very tired, the breakfast was average, I had to ask for basic toiletries, the beds were tiny—one especially small and uncomfortable—and the bathroom was a cupboard but the shower was fine. These are just my personal opinions, as per the photos.

After check-in I went straight to the restaurant for dinner, the staff were very welcoming and were the highlight of the stay. Honestly, reading the reviews, its hard to believe I stayed in the same place as some visitors. I cannot stress how bad my room was and I'm especially disgruntled given the price of €189 I paid for one night. I was put in what appeared to be staff quarters, if they try to put you in room 109 or 110 I would ask for another room. There was no access to the reception upon arrival after a 3 1/2 drive, so I had to go next door and one of the waiters came around to reception to check me in. He then opened the door next to reception, brought me through back of house, out a fire exit, through the yard at the back, in through another fire exit and I was told it's two flights of stairs up there to your right. At the top of the stairs, there were 3 doors, with no signs on them, a stack of chairs in front of one door was a clue that it wasn't that door I needed to go through, so I chanced another door. To my amazement, there was another door behind the one I choose which took me through to a small corridor with rooms 109 & 110.a small maze. The room was so outdated, both ceiling lights in the room and the bathroom flickered and took time to warm up when I switched them on. The vanity mirror on the desk was leaning down towards the table as the hinges were loose so I had to pop something under it to keep it upright when I was getting ready the next morning. The cherry on top was the ceiling to floor unfrosted glass window right bext to the toilet, looking out onto a flat roof. The only saving grace was that I arrived at approx 7pm and had to be gone again by 8.30 the next morning
