The room was clean and spacious. The hotel’s facilities were weak, the breakfast was unsuitable, and the reception staff were rude. Even though the hotel was empty, they didn’t give me the room until 2 pm even though I arrived at 1 pm, and they kept nagging about security every time I entered or left.

“It’s a very nice hotel and we had a lovely time.”

Very nice hotel with a great view over the lake and volcano. I booked two rooms and asked for a lake‑view room, and both rooms had the view. The breakfast was nice and we could enjoy it on one of the two nights we stayed. I didn’t realize how busy the main road is near the hotel. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep well because the traffic noise was strong until after 1:30 am and started again after 4 pm. I would return to the Carlito but would ask for a quieter part of the hotel and not worry about the view.

We stayed as a family of 6 and the hotel looked impressive, was well appointed, clean and nicely decorated. The pool was nice and the staff were friendly, plus many rooms offered a lake view. The only downside was the location on a busy road, so the windows need better sound proofing, and the restaurant was pricey for the Philippines and shut down at 5.30pm.

Breakfast was good and the location made it easy to tour the city, visit malls, churches, chapels and convents. You can pick from a variety of restaurants, fast‑food spots and other options. The staff were very accommodating, always smiling and appreciative.
