“Beautiful people, beautiful place Totally loved our stay at Tambua Sands We will be back for sure!!”
A gorgeous spot right on the beach, and we were lucky to have our own plunge pool right in front of the beach. The room was amazing and we were thrilled—it really went beyond what we expected. The bed was super comfy, and since I’m a light sleeper, I had to be aware of the road noise because the hotel is close to a road. Earplugs each night solved that, and I slept soundly. Everything was perfect. The staff were all lovely and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Bring water shoes because at low tide there’s exposed coral and rock; seeing fish swim around your legs was a fun surprise. The resort is adults‑only, so it’s quiet and relaxed—peaceful, a little hidden gem. I’ll definitely come back to Tambura Sands 🥰 The only downside was the food. The menu needs a Fijian flare and the cooking quality needs improvement. Management is aware and is trying to train the cooks better. Picking the right dishes is key: pizza is good, and if you try Tui’s Kokoda and the Fiji Coconut Caramel dessert, they’re divine! The breakfast sides—bacon, eggs, etc.—cost $6.90 extra over the continental breakfast, but the portions were huge and great value. All the positives far outweigh this one negative! 😃
“We will not be going back to Fiji”
The staff were good. The location, prices, and breakfast were not great.
“Super relaxing Fijian holiday”
This was the nicest resort we’ve stayed at in Fiji. It was lovely, quiet, extremely clean, and right on the sea front. It’s easy to get local transport to the nearest town, Sigatoka. The staff were excellent, cheerful, helpful, and always smiling, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we wanted. I’d highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a nice quiet holiday. The restaurant menu was rather average with not many choices, and it was the same every night.
“Great place great staff will will come again”
The staff were amazing, always with the biggest smiles and eager to know where you’re from, so helpful. Tui and Skulie, our activity guys, kept us busy with all sorts of games, singing, reef walks, crab and frog races—a fun-packed week. A small complaint: the glass on the beach needs attention, and the rubbish lying around in the drains out front of the resort from the village could be picked up daily.
“Great place to have a ‘winter’ holiday from NZ and UK. It’s a relaxed and peaceful place to stay.”
The Ocean Villa was spacious for two, and we spent a lot of time outside. The reef and ocean views were lovely and calming. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and always checking if we needed anything. The gardens and landscaping were excellent and well maintained. You’re staying in a tropical paradise. The daily activities—most free, some with a nominal charge—were great, and we’d encourage others to try them. It was fantastic to swim and snorkel on the reef right in front of us. First, do a guided snorkel and reef walk to learn about currents and reef layout; that’s recommended for future solo or duo swims. We’ll come back and highly recommend TSR.
