“Una voliera”

Nothing. Everything, the room was tiny and shabby, claimed to be a double but it was a half‑square meter and very uncomfortable. TV could not tune channels, claustrophobic space that feels like a cage. Bathroom lacked a bidet and any furnishings, prices were extremely high for sleeping in a dump – it’s a legalized scam. I wouldn’t return even for free; the worst place I have ever stayed.

“BREVE SOSTA A GAETA!”

The B&B sits in a lovely little square close to Gaeta’s harbor, a truly nice spot. Overall the place isn’t bad and the rooms come with all the basic comforts you’d expect everywhere. We upgraded the room because we’d mistakenly booked one with external services and a double bed, and that extra change cost 50 euros more than the 100 we had planned. The room that was kindly offered to us was clean, but unfortunately it was very lacking in detail… The bathroom had a vacuum that didn’t work, and being windowless made it even worse. There was only one hook for hanging towels, and that hook was holding a hair dryer🙄, so wet towels had to be hung wherever they could. The window had a mosquito net that was useless because it was broken in several places, and a curtain that let in a lot of light at dawn. The walls in the room were peeling from moisture in several spots, giving the place a pretty unhealthy look. The small wardrobe was wobbly. In short, the extra 50 euros were far too much.

“Apparte qualche piccolo difetto, la struttura è buona.”

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Gaeta. The staff were very polite and helpful, and both check‑in and check‑out were very simple. Cleaning was good, and the bathroom facilities were decent. Overall my stay was positive. The downside was that the bathroom wasn’t attached to the bedroom; you had to walk through a shared hallway to reach it. The bedroom itself was very small.

“Il peggior posto ove abbia mai soggiornato”

Nothing good to say. The room was so small you could barely call it a room: a single bed and a half between two walls that made the window inaccessible. The furnishings were embarrassing and dirty. We knew the bathroom was separate, but it was absolutely embarrassing: the shower was in a small space, and next to the shower basin there was a small door… Plus the room heard all the noises from the ground floor of the same building. Various pipes running through the room made noises that kept us from sleeping. For both the bathroom and the room there was only one key, so you couldn’t lock both rooms at the same time. Terrible.
