“Good stop over for work”

The room offered good value, though it could have been cleaner—high‑level dust and cobwebs were present, and a functional TV with remote would have been welcome. Water and biscuits were nice touches, and the bar staff were exceptionally helpful. I didn’t realize I’d booked a room without an ensuite, but they upgraded me when a vacancy opened up. Parking was a hassle: I had to leave before 7, yet the car park only opens at 7 and closes at 9, so I had to find alternative parking outside those hours.

“Great staff and friendly locals”

The staff and locals were super friendly, and the room had everything we needed, including toiletries. We stayed with a baby and the noise level was acceptable. It was a perfect stay for our needs at a good price. When I broke the key in the door at 11 pm on a Saturday with a sleepy baby in arms, the staff got us back into the room within 5 minutes—no drama. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Nothing to complain about.

“Don't bother stay somewhere else.”

Lovely little town, but the hotel was dirty—everywhere, not just the room. Food was left on the floor and the staff ignored it even after being told. It’s barely a 1★, not a 3★, so check the listings before booking; this place is awful.

Location was perfect, and the welcoming staff showed me to the room. Plenty of coffee and other amenities were in the room, and the bed was comfortable for me. The building is very old, so I expected wonky floors and other quirks. The pub outside was noisy, with guests wandering outside the back. The separate toilet was far down the corridor, and the overall cleanliness was lacking—cobwebs and the like.
