The highway spot is convenient, quiet, and close to town for dining; the bed is comfortable and the pool is clean, but the AC failed and there were no towels in the room.

We booked a standard queen room, but with three adults and a child we needed two double beds; instead we received a single and a queen, and when we asked, the staff said no room had two doubles, and that’s all; the room was clean but had cracked tiles beside the bed, a hole behind the front door, no Wi‑Fi reception, and the TV kept freezing and cutting out.

The space is generous and near the highway, but the Wi‑Fi is unusable.

The spot is perfect for a quick stop before heading on, right next to the A1, and surprisingly quiet despite the highway. The rooms are clean, roomy, and well-equipped, and the shower is hot and powerful. The pool area is a nice addition, and parking is ample. The Wi‑Fi password didn’t work for us.

The room was very clean, comfortable and well presented, and the whole place had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. For anyone travelling through Bowen, particularly with a dog, I would highly recommend Birch Motel. Great value, comfortable accommodation. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in Bowen. 5 stars from us!
