The Old Post Office Guesthouse, a family‑run property in central Grundarfjörður, offers bright rooms with free Wi‑Fi, flat‑screen TV, wardrobe and work desk, many framing views of Kirkjufell Mountain and surrounding nature. Guests enjoy a fully equipped communal kitchen, terrace and balcony with sea and mountain vistas, free parking, and nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and the Sudur‑Bár Golf Club 8 km away.

The room was okay, but it was minimally dusty and the shower head was missing.

The location was good, but the bathroom drainage was poor and the kitchen wasn’t very clean.

The price‑to‑value ratio was very good, the private bathroom and bedding were excellent, and it’s a nice spot to visit the peninsula. The communal kitchen gets dirty and chaotic quickly, but that’s more a problem with the many guests who use it without regard than with the establishment itself.

The view of Mount Kirkjufell from the window was indescribable; the house was perfect, the kitchen super equipped, and the owner's cleanliness and friendliness were top. Absolutely recommended.
