Huvan Inn

The owner had a very good attitude, was a young guy, and the rates were quite cheap, much cheaper than some local influencers on Xiaohongshu. He took us fishing and we caught a 100‑pound fish, which was a lot of fun. The hotel arranged to meet us early at the pier for pickup and drop‑off. The hotel’s own restaurant was a few yuan more than outside, but the portions and taste were not on the same level as we found out after eating elsewhere. The owner was good, and his staff were a little… well, they are workers, so that's understandable, but not too much – acceptable.

Huvan Inn is a small, cozy hotel in the island’s centre, with four double rooms, one of which can host three guests, and a dining room that fits exactly that number of tourists. The sandy beach and excellent swimming conditions surround the place. The inn looks like a traditional house turned into a hotel, with architecture that blends perfectly with the surroundings, a large natural pitch for football games, and one side marked by two very old, magnificent trees on the island. The view from the dining room is priceless – you feel like you’re in an authentic, untouched place. The rooms, though not huge, have everything you need: a good shower, strong air conditioning, a comfortable bed, plenty of shelves and hangers, a kettle, coffee, and tea just outside the door. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the location was good. The boat tour to see the sharks was amazing! I couldn’t pay with my e‑travel card, so I ended up with extra bank fees.

The place is quiet and everything is reachable quickly, which is partly because the island is tiny, and the breakfast is good. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of storage, and coffee and tea are available all day. However, there is no water refill service, and snorkeling gear isn’t free. We couldn’t confirm the many positive comments about friendliness and actually felt a bit unwelcome. The shower drain was clogged.

Breakfast is good, the staff are friendly, the location is great, and the rooms are very clean. The rooms could use a bit more storage space.
