The location in Maakon is great, the room is cozy with a nice breakfast. There are few options in the town.

Yvonne is a very friendly and caring host, always willing to share information, gives good trip suggestions, and prepares a delicious and extensive breakfast; even when asked, there was always something tasty to add. The room is small but modern and cleverly furnished, equipped with everything needed. We didn’t use the TV with German Netflix, but the quiet was perfect, Wi‑Fi worked flawlessly without extra charge, there was a kettle with coffee pods and a wide selection of tea, a hair dryer, and new towels were provided daily even without asking. The bathrooms are super modern and clean. The neighborhood is very nice, several cats greeted us when we stepped outside. Parking is available in front of the accommodation. Breakfast is just around the corner in the garden or a gazebo, depending on the weather. The location is optimal, with picturesque streets and beautiful houses, passing by idyllic waterways with impressive boats and yachts, and a short walk to Makkum’s shopping street and restaurants. On the pier, you can take long walks with geese, gulls, and other waterfowl, and if you’re traveling with kids, you should visit Makkum’s beautiful beach. The shallow water and soft white sand invite splashing and play, a dream for families. Dining out is very pricey, but you’re still well served in Makkum. It was only a three‑day short holiday, but we enjoyed everything and also visited nearby cities like Harlingen, Sneek, and the Marine Museum. At night there was absolute silence, which was wonderful! We’ll be back in Makkum next year.

The cleanliness, location, hostess, and beds were all excellent! The only downside was the lack of a kettle in the room; only instant coffee was available.
