The location on the Icefields Parkway was excellent, and the pre‑trip info made us fully prepared; we sensed a friendly community vibe upon arrival but stayed private due to an early start. The setup was basic, as clearly stated, and the unlit toilet path at night felt a bit scary, but that was my issue; I was told to pay on arrival, yet they charged my bank 24 hrs early from Vancouver, which only momentarily confused me.

The host was super friendly, attentive, and offered great local tips. For a hostel, it was very comfortable and clean! The sauna was closed, and there was no trash bin near the toilet.

The hostel had a small, welcoming vibe, and it was easy to meet other guests and chat around the fire, which was a great touch; the staff were friendly and helpful, though the walk from the parking added a bit of distance, making the stay feel more secluded in the woods.
