What a wonderful place! We were greeted warmly by Valdinéia—thanks for the hospitality! The breakfast was fantastic, everything was perfect! I’m already planning to come back.

The breakfast was excellent. The team’s cordiality, friendliness, and politeness stood out. The location is great and the view is fantastic. I didn’t encounter anything I didn’t like.

The location is great for anyone heading up the Papagaio peak, right at the trailhead. We were very well received. We had a period without Wi‑Fi, but it was fixed. The place doesn’t pick up Vivo or Internet signals. There’s no TV, which is the only odd thing we noticed, but it didn’t bother us.

The chalet is very beautiful and complete, brand new, clean, and has all the kitchen utensils and appliances needed for cooking (stove, mini‑fridge, blender, toaster, airfryer, coffee machine). The bathroom is fully equipped with a hygienic shower and an electric shower that heats well. The bed is comfortable, the linens and towels are well cared for and white, and there are towels available for the waterfall. Coffee powder, sugar, coffee filters, oil, salt, paper towels, and other items were also available. Breakfast is delivered to the chalet at a time that works for you, in a basket, warm, fresh, very complete, and well served, with bread, cheese bread, homemade cake, and artisanal cheeses, all made by Valdinéia. Everything was delicious, plus fruit, juice, eggs, butter, jam, milk, etc. The chalet is at the end of the road, in Serra dos Garcia, right next to the start of the trail for those going up Papagaio Peak, and the upper part of Cachoeira dos Garcia. It’s also close to Restaurante Casal Garcia, and a bit further is Restaurante Velho Oeste. You can walk calmly to the upper part of the waterfall in about 5 minutes. Following Valdinéia’s tip, we went to the upper part, followed a trail on the left side, and already reached Restaurante Casal Garcia, where the trail to the lower part of the waterfall starts, so we didn’t have to go back to the road and climb to the restaurant. There’s no Claro signal in the town. I saved the map offline, so the GPS took me straight to the chalet. Valdinéia lives on the same property, but the chalet is very quiet and offers complete privacy. There’s no TV, but there is Wi‑Fi, so I brought a small TV to watch a few movies at night via the Internet because it was very cold to go out. In the first two days the signal wasn’t very good, but in the last two it was fine. Nothing I didn’t like, only I missed a heater or fireplace, because even though the chalet is well insulated I had to buy a heater in the neighboring town because it was very cold during my stay, even freezing. The chalet is wonderful, just missing a few small details, but the host said they were already working on it, such as outlets near the bed, a nightstand, and a paved path for the car to drive up. We also suggest a TV, a wardrobe/shelf with a coat rack, a heater, and a mirror for the bedroom and a hair dryer. There’s only one chalet, but she’s building another. The road was in good condition, but at some points it’s very narrow and steep, and we encountered several cars going the opposite direction, making it hard to pass two at once; we often had to reverse and climb over bumps for another car to pass. It’s not a hotel issue, but the road needs improvement by the municipality, because at least on holidays there was a lot of traffic and to go to the town center and to Vale do Matutu, where there are more waterfalls, you have to cross the entire road. If it’s rainy season, check in advance because it can become impassable.
