“Disastrous”
Nothing. I emailed after booking to ask for assistance to get transport to reach Jinga. They still haven’t replied and I left there today. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by music blasting from the wedding which was taking place there. I couldn’t speak with the on duty reception staff without shouting. He reassured me that the music will only go until 9-10pm… we had 3 1/2 hours to cope with this. Ok we said … Please put our rooms as far away as you can from that music. Our rooms were far away however it was still ridiculously loud in our rooms. We were kindly invited to eat with the wedding guests by the groom’s brother. Which we did. On one occasion when my companion tried to shut her door the whole handle and plate came off in her hand rendering the door unlockable… she was then placed in a room closer to the music fiasco! At 11 pm after trying to call reception on numerous occasions and failing to o get an answer I went to the reception desk only to be told the manager was off the premises. I requested she ask when the music was stopping. It stopped soon after!! I asked her at that time for the manager to speak with me in the morning. On check at 1030 out I still hadn’t heard from him. On enquiry I was directed to his office where I found him eating a hearty meal! He was full of apologies of course. Saying yes the music stopped at 9pm… no it did not I assured him! He could offer no recompense, nothing to justify why we were able to book two rooms online on the day of a function with the guarantee of no rest or use of the facilities… we had especially booked to use the pool! The tables of guests surrounded the pool. We were told yes we could swim if we wanted!!! It was a disaster of a night. No rest possible until after 11 pm and then in addition mattress was like lying on a slab of stone. Do not book at this shambles of a place!
