Located 650 metres from The National Palace of Culture, Family Hotel Agoncev offers central accommodation in a tranquil area of Sofia. The hotel features free WiFi, an on-site restaurant, and car hire. Each air-conditioned room has a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a private bathroom with free toiletries, and a hairdryer. The closest metro station is a 5-minute walk away.

The bed was big and there was a balcony. Extra towels were in the room, and the bathroom had a shower. The men at reception spoke fluent English and were helpful. The metro station—NDK—is close to the hotel. The only drawback was the bland breakfast: hard‑boiled egg, ham, cheese, jam, bread, and melted cheese.

The place was very tidy, but it was a pity that there was no space available for evening seating even though it existed but was closed; we were a group of eight and that would have made our stay more pleasant.

The three bedrooms with two bathrooms and the spacious living room made the room comfortable, and the large terrace had its own charm, plus the location was flawless, just a few hundred metres from Sofia’s main attractions. The kitchen annex was there, yet almost empty—only plates and cutlery, no sharp knives, boards, etc. Why have a fridge, electric hob, and extractor if you can’t make a sandwich? Breakfast was weak, with toasted bread and a few cold accompaniments; no vegetables during the week, only appearing on the weekend.

The hotel is close to the NDK and easily walkable to Sofia’s centre, with public transport also conveniently reachable; the narrow residential streets don’t make you feel uneasy. The rooms are nicely furnished and everything works, and it’s clean. At night check‑in runs automatically, which didn’t bother me because I’m used to it. The breakfast service arrived a bit late; I’m not sure if that was because of my call or simply a delay.
