The view was outstanding. I also received free upgrade to a seaview room Fairly good facilities i.e very big selection for breakfast. The cleanliness was poor attention to detail. My room had evidence mess from previous guests. i.e a lollipop stick and empty sugar wrappers left in the bathroom. Paper left on the floor in the bedroom. The furniture was very dusty. The fan stored in the cupboard was full of dust that i could not use it in the evening. I reported this to receptionist who listened to my concerns and advised house keeping would look at it. But when i returned the only improvement was the dust in the fan being reduced. The balcony was filthy, could benefit from tiles being jet washed. Glass to doors leading to balcony were very dirty. Could benefit from being cleaned. It looks like it has not been cleaned for a very long time. Makes me question the cleaning programme - surely there should be a planned deep clean?? Overall the room was very tired and would benefit from a revamp in order to sustain the prices charged. The steam room was very dirty alot of grime on the tiled floor. I did not feel comfortable to sit due to lack of confidence in cleanliness

The breakfast arrived in my room and was presented beautifully, and the room service was excellent.

“Full of charm but needs a makeover”

The location was excellent, the staff lovely, and the bed comfortable. The corridors and lift were very dirty, and the room was dusty behind the radiator. The bathroom tap had very low pressure, taking at least 20 seconds to flow when turned on. Our room was in pretty bad shape, and after staying at the Imperial for years we noticed an appalling decline in decor and cleanliness. It didn't ruin our visit, but it was sad to see.
