The staff were lovely, especially Allison who welcomed us warmly and gave brilliant scenic and dinner suggestions. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location is great. The bathroom, however, could have used a deep clean; it was only surface‑level clean, felt a bit grimy, and the tiles and grout needed a thorough scrub. The extractor fan didn’t work, and we didn’t realize there was no hot breakfast until we arrived.

The location and staff are good, but the room was tired and had several maintenance issues.

The location is fine. The bathroom had no extractor, so the walls showed black mouldy grout. The bed was too hard, the kettle was rusty and slimy inside, there were no hooks for coats, and the wardrobe only had two hangers.

The staff member who greeted us was friendly and breakfast was tasty, but that’s all the good stuff. The room was dirty, the shower head on the riser rail was broken so we couldn’t shower, and a wall light was falling off. The cleaner must have known about the broken items or didn’t clean properly. The net curtains had mildew. Checking that everything works is basic hotel duty, not relying on guests to point out long‑standing problems.

A comfy bed right by the lake made the stay great, though it rained.
