L'Isola che non c'è sits in Rome’s vibrant city centre, just a six‑minute walk from Lepanto Metro, 600 m from Piazza del Popolo and 1.1 km from Castel Sant’Angelo. Rooms combine air‑conditioning, parquet floors, walk‑in showers, hypoallergenic bedding, minibars and work desks. Guests enjoy a sauna, bar, free Wi‑Fi, shared kitchen, inner‑courtyard views and quiet street vistas. Nearby attractions include Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps and an ice‑skating rink.

The location was excellent—quiet neighborhood, plenty of food and cafés, close to the Vatican area. However, if you’re looking for comfort, peace, and rest during your holiday, think twice before booking this place. We chose it based on the 9.2 “Fabulous” rating shown on the booking site, but our experience fell far short of that expectation. We ran into issues that undermined basic aspects of the stay such as comfort, maintenance, privacy, and service. 1. No luggage storage support. There’s no reception, and storing bags depends on the hosts’ availability. We arrived before check‑in time and had to wait at the station until we could leave our luggage. After check‑out, we tried contacting both the booking site and the hosts via WhatsApp to find out how to handle our bags, but we didn’t get a timely reply and had to hire another service. For those who value convenience and support during travel, this is a crucial point to consider. 2. Shower with inadequate operation. The water flow is extremely low, and the temperature swings between very hot and very cold. Taking a shower becomes an uncomfortable experience as we constantly try to find the right temperature. We also found other guests mentioning the same problem, which makes the situation even more concerning. 3. Hair dryer defective. The dryer works for only a few seconds before overheating and stopping, so you have to wait to try it again. We couldn’t even dry a short male hair without the device cutting out. It’s a basic item that should be in proper working condition. 4. Bathroom with conservation problems. The shower enclosure shows signs of lack of maintenance, with poorly kept grout and spots of mold and dirt. These issues compromise the sense of hygiene and comfort in the space. 5
