Haus Magnushof

A quiet, scenic place surrounded by a beautiful field; we had a small room, enough for a couple of days, especially if you’re driving and constantly heading to Füssen for active rest. The room was clean, the bed comfortable so we never wanted to get up early 😅; we always wanted to stay in bed longer. The pizza was tasty and made on the spot. The staff were polite. 🐈 We kept seeing a cat, probably living there, which was a plus for me 🤍. The shower with the toilet was quite narrow, especially the room itself. There’s a farm nearby, so the street on one side always smelled of cow manure. 🐮 P.s. our room didn’t smell at all, so it didn’t bother us.

“Mooie omgeving met een teleurstellend verblijf”

The food was good, but there was no ventilation, it was too warm, the bathroom was cramped, one small window could open, another was closed because it faced the balcony of another room, and there was no air conditioning. The room was dark and stuffy, and in the morning between 6:30 and 7:00 there was already a lot of noise from a vacuum cleaner and small children. A noisy accommodation.

A large, enclosed garden, luxurious fittings, plenty of space, a modern kitchen, a quiet location, yet you’re only a few minutes from the top travel destinations of the region. Because the property had just been put on the market (everything was brand new!), a few kitchen utensils were missing, but overall nothing earth-shattering…

“Urlaub auf dem Magnushof”

We want to praise the kitchen; the chef did very good work. Everything was very tasty and the prices are also reasonable. We stayed at the Magnushof from 20.06. to 23.06.26. Unfortunately we cannot explain the good reviews. We booked a Deluxe Double room named “Weitblick”. The room already looked different from the advertised photos of the Magnushof. On closer inspection it got worse. The bathroom photos looked larger than the actual bathroom. You could only rotate around your own axis. Coming out of the shower and drying off was impossible! Everything was too cramped. Washing your face or brushing your teeth was very difficult because you had to put your head under the mirror cabinet to use the sink. In the morning you were woken at 5:30 by an agricultural machine that was working on the silo, lasting until about 6:30. At 8:00 construction work started with an excavator that then worked all day until 19:00. It was very annoying. Also you couldn’t sit in the garden. There were seating groups, but they couldn’t be used because they were dirty, and the pavilions were probably completely destroyed by hail, which was not very nice to see. The only intact seating groups had no shade, and it was sometimes over 30 °C. The property itself also needs a thorough overhaul. With weeds, withered flowers and nettles, hardly any blooming flowers are visible. The only thing was the lawn, which was mowed by a lawnmower robot and looked good. At breakfast note that the base price of 6.90 € does not include a drink. Eggs, muesli, etc. cost extra. Our conclusion is that it was not a relaxing holiday for us. We had imagined a bit nicer. There may be other experiences, but ours was not so nice. The pictures in the magazine are one thing, the reality another.
