The White Bear’s spot was right near the town centre, ideal for checking out the sites, market and canal walks. The pub itself had a really good vibe and a solid selection of evening meals, even the ghost of the pub was friendly… The breakfast was great and got us ready for the day. Nothing to complain about—everything was super.

The room was lovely and spacious, with a clean, comfy bed and a hot shower. The hosts and their staff were friendly and helpful, and the cooked breakfast was tasty. I loved the old‑worldy pub; it was popular and buzzing with a great atmosphere. The carpets in the room and the communal areas up the stairs desperately need renewing or cleaning, and the decor in the communal areas could use some attention, but that won’t stop me from staying there again!

We had car trouble and arrived late, but the staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to get us sorted. The entrance and stairway to the rooms were a problem.
