The location was fine, but we found cockroaches in the room, and when the lights went out the staff didn’t explain why or give us a return time so we could decide whether to stay or leave. Also, we were told by booking that breakfast was included, yet they simply told us it wasn’t.

When I arrived I asked for an e‑invoice and a paper copy; they said it would be ready later that afternoon, but it never arrived. After I checked out I messaged via WhatsApp because no one was at reception, and got no reply. The charge shown on the booking included taxes, and I never received a receipt for the restaurant meals even though I was told it would come with the lodging invoice. I had mentioned from the start that this was a business trip, so having the proper invoice was essential.

A lovely spot to unwind right on the Pacific Ocean, the hotel feels simple, authentic, and full of life, drawing surfers and travelers worldwide. The home‑cooked meals are superb, especially the fresh fish and chicken, best paired with a cold local beer. Watching the tides shift every six hours is a breathtaking natural show that completely transforms the beach. Event nights bring locals and visitors together, but the real highlights are the ocean, the sky, and the tranquil vibe—perfect for rest, nature, and genuine Costa Rican hospitality. The pool could use some upkeep; when we stayed in late December, the kitchen was under roof construction and practically inaccessible.
