“Comfortable but noisy and stink off cigarettes all day and night”

The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and well appointed, but it was very noisy from the lane out the back, there was a stink of cigarettes from people smoking outside the back door, and loud phones from smokers added to the noise.

The bed was comfortable and the location was great. It was impossible to find at night because the entrance was overgrown with bushes.

“Negligence on Newcastle”

The bed was large and comfortable. I paid $1050 for a week and didn’t expect these problems at that price: the air conditioner kept cycling on and off all week and had a mouldy smell, the street and neighbours behind the laneway were noisy, there were no extra towels, no full set of cutlery or crockery such as bowls and plates for two people in a room without a kitchen, and only two rolls of 1‑ply toilet paper were provided.

“Fly the nest”

The spot is right next to a Vietnamese restaurant, which was a win. But the TV remote was dead and there were no instructions on how to use the TV, and the air‑con heating seemed to be broken. Getting in was a hassle – the place was hard to locate and I had to call the hotel to get the key. Overall, good location but tech and arrival issues.

“Was downgraded to the suite 1 room a couple days before arrival”

Location is solid, close to everything. The facilities, however, were underwhelming – the gym was cramped, the pool barely functional, and the Wi‑Fi was spotty. It was a decent place to stay if you only need a bed, but the amenities left something to be desired.
