“Never again...”

The reception tries hard to make customers happy. This is my third time here. And I'm genius level 6. Disappointing and unsafe stay at Boreas Hotel by Wyndham, Ankara. The problems started right away when the valet scratched the rims of my car. At first the property acknowledged the damage and asked me to wait for their insurance information, so I trusted their word and stayed three extra days in Ankara waiting for it. But later they turned around, called me a scammer, and refused to pay for the repairs. Inside, the room was in poor condition: broken bathroom tiles, a TV that didn't work, and a broken electrical outlet. Worse, several outlets were genuine fire hazards and unsafe to touch, which is alarming for any guest. The twin beds were pushed together but separated by a metal bracket that sticks out, a real injury risk. To make matters worse, there was no manager present at the hotel, only reachable by phone, and the staff had no authority to accommodate any guest requests, whether refunds or fixing problems. As a result, none of these problems were addressed and my concerns were simply brushed off. For a Wyndham-branded property, this level of neglect and safety hazard is unacceptable. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it

The location in Kavaklıdere is good – a quiet side street, Tunalı Hilmi within walking distance. That’s it. The bathroom was consistently dirty, with a permanent drain odor in the room. Extremely noisy: you can hear the drains of neighboring rooms and the elevator – from the 5th floor you can always hear which floor it stops at and whether the door opens. Restful sleep was impossible. The hotel bar turned into a loud disco with a pseudo‑elite crowd in the evenings. The low point was breakfast: selected guests behaved with shocking lack of distance and volume, serving themselves at the buffet as if there were no other guests – pushing, shouting across the room, no consideration or respect. The staff watched helplessly. Service was underground: the room telephone was broken, the safe was not lockable, and the staff were uniformly unfriendly. For the price, it was a complete disappointment.

“Unfortunately, the poor cleanliness and condition of the room made this a very disappointing and uncomfortable stay.”

We barely found anything to enjoy; the location was convenient, but the room’s condition and cleanliness made it hard to relax. Hair and stains, including what looked like blood, were on the bed, and we discovered used toilet paper. Some cupboards were broken, which made us uneasy and raised serious concerns about housekeeping and maintenance. The room should have been inspected and cleaned properly before we checked in.
