Outside of peak season, the breakfast and dinner were acceptable, and the location is a major plus when the weather cooperates; the indoor pool is another advantage with friendly staff. The hotel seems aimed at families or medieval enthusiasts, who are likely well taken care of during the season. However, on a weekday in the off‑season, a traveler’s arrival can disrupt the routine, especially if they want the booked double room in an otherwise nearly empty building. Since the hotel offers no food at that time, guests are directed to the neighboring restaurant, a labyrinthine walk through the dark film set area in the rain, with no directional help due to language barriers.

Breakfast was disappointing, less extensive than expected for the price; the room was large but dated and smelled a bit, especially in the bathrooms, and cleaning was intermittent. Communication was hard (English or German only via Google Translate). The spa was also underwhelming, with many tiles broken or missing, though everything except the plunge pool worked.

“Not impressive but the region of Qax is ethereal.. untouched by the influx of tourists”

The location of this hotel is great, with a lovely view of the mountains and river from my spacious family room, and the bathroom was really well done. However, the service was pretty bad - they couldn't get the food right, my room wasn't cleaned for days, and I got charged for breakfast on check-in even though I'd already paid for it. Overall, it wasn't worth the money.

I loved the natural surroundings, it's a really beautiful spot far from the city with a peaceful atmosphere and lovely scenery. The staff were friendly too. However, the hotel had some issues - the toilet smelled like sewage, the elevator wasn't working so we had to climb up and down the stairs to the fifth floor, breakfast was pretty basic, and the soundproofing was terrible.

I had a really great experience here. The place is excellent and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
