The house sits close to the ferry and the Saaleweg cycling route. The hosts were very helpful when I arrived at 16.30 instead of 19.30 and handed me the keys.

“Haus direkt an der Saale”

We spent a weekend here for a family gathering and just slept. The old house is nice, the hosts are very friendly, and the location on the Saale is dreamy. The seating area with a small garden sits across the footpath from the house (outside the property), which is fine because people don’t pass by all the time. The house is noisy, there are no mosquito nets in the bedroom or living room, and the couch is very uncomfortable and old. A cozier setup would be better, but that’s a matter of taste. The price feels too high, and you can only have breakfast outside on nice weather because there’s no awning or similar cover.

It felt homely, clean and fresh, with a cozy terrace in a small courtyard and a pleasant host. The pillows were not the most comfortable – they were square and quite flat, and it was annoying that you had to lie on the sheets instead of a mattress cover? The same issue happened at another hotel in Germany.
