“Wonderful Hotel and hospitality experience”
The breakfast buffet in Ortisei was a superb start, offering a huge variety of everything you’d expect. The spa and pools provided a welcome break after trekking, and the dinner in the restaurant was a full Italian feast with set‑course menus and plenty of options for every palate; be sure to book at reception in the morning because capacity is limited. The hotel sits about 759 m from the center in a quiet part of town with easy access to attractions and transport. There was nothing to complain about the hotel itself, but when we got to Ortisei we had taken a train from Verona to Bolzano and then the local bus 350. The hotel offers the Val Gardena card, which gives free transit on public transport in the Val Gardena region. That bus runs once per hour and twice per hour at peak times to and from Ortisei, yet the second bus didn’t run, leaving the bus oversubscribed and guests behind. No queuing system at any stop meant a free‑for‑all situation. The transport company operator needs to review its services and provide the scheduled buses. The bus staff were indifferent and unhelpful. This may be due to the free transit with the Val Gardena card, which also needs review. Note that taxi transfers are expensive at €120 / €140 each way to and from Ortisei.
