The hotel features wooden floors, fresh furnishings, and private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers. A breakfast buffet is served daily, and the on-site restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday. The bar features live music on Fridays, near Österlånggatan pedestrian street and Lake Vänern.

The central location was a plus. The noise from the renovation was a drawback.

The location and view over the square were great. The breakfast, however, felt a bit messy and hard to find what you needed because everything was spread out. There was no system at all, so you had to walk back and forth. The egg whisk was missing!

The room had just been renovated, was stylish and really spacious (almost like two rooms), and the bathroom was the same. The beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was plentiful, though a wider vegan selection would be nice. The floors creak, which wakes you up at night. The renovation caused some inconvenience. The early morning train traffic also wakes me up. The restaurant services are quite minimal.

The lunch was very good, and the hotel sits nicely by the square. It looks gorgeous when the bath is in the sun during the day. Mariestad is a nice town to visit, and I’ll definitely come back. Nothing negative.
