The location was convenient for strolling around the little shops of Unawatuna, but there was mold in our room and some ants on the desk; the whole property had many mosquitoes and the breakfast was mediocre, so if it were better maintained it would be great.

I really liked the location; the hotel sits right on the beach and also in the heart of Unawatuna. The food was great and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately my room was close to the reception, so at night I could hear all the noise coming from there, especially the loud TV or people watching videos on their phones in that area during the night. Also the room faced a construction site, so there were constant noises during the day. From the beach those noises weren’t audible. Another point to mention, not exactly a negative but worth noting, is the constant presence of clothing, object, and coconut sellers on the beach. I got the impression they stayed there all the time and didn’t move to other hotels on the beach. They’re not annoying, but the fourth time they asked me if I wanted to buy something felt a bit heavy, especially since we were a small group in low season. One more thing that could be improved (and it’s true across Sri Lanka) is the repeated “Is everything okay?” asked by staff while guests are eating. I understand it once, but then I’d like to eat in peace. It’s not a huge problem but can be irritating.

The view and location were nice, the room was spacious with a nice bathroom, the beach was right at the doorstep and the breakfast was beautiful. The dinner was disappointing; the seafood was overcooked.

The location was excellent, right on the beach. It was very quiet, the rooms were very clean and well equipped, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was fine.
